By surveying the masses the heads of the hierarchy have gained a measure of control on thos below them. The power they posses comes from this power. The power that the common man comes from ththe power the heads of the hierarchy give us. This power is passed up and down periodically as if it is a cycle. Without the bottom of the system the top wouldn't have their power.
ReplyDeleteDiscipline is linked in to the technology that we have created. It has given us a sense of security from the other person. Society functions like technology. It needs everyone to be involved in order to keep the system up and running.
ReplyDeleteFrom the available technology to allow so much observance and recollection of facts, it has developed a structure in which society interacts. Based off of variables of the economy to politics, is a system in which requires several parts from the whole to work. It is a database of the past, present t,can't predictions of the future. This power can work in any way within the types of social establishments. This system provides a work ethic with the different levels of power. Everyone has a different role in the power, and the individuals fall into the trap of not having power from one with the same source of power giving them that influence.

We can also recognize this power as multiple, automatic and anonymous. Even though surveillance rests on each individual person, it works from the top of the network of people to the individual. The power of surveillance is not something that can be possessed as a thing, it functions like a machine. The pyramidal organization produces unequal power as a whole.

Although there is a hierarchy that is formed, every individual is in some part of it. Rather than being a a definite thing, this form of discipline is more like a machine/processed. ReplyDeleteDisciplinary powers became a necessity to society. It is made to be a substantial force controlled by the house of powers(no one knows exactly who controls it). The house of powers uses "disciplinary powers" as a way of control . These powers control and influence the behavior of groups. Surveillance powers functions as a machine, and the hierarchal system functions as the head.
